Labrador Retriever The Labrador Retriever is thought to be descended from the Saint Jones Dog that inhabited the island of Newfoundland in the 18th century. The breed was definitively set in the early 20th century in England, where it was imported after being crossed with the English Pointer, in particular.

The popular retriever owes its success to its exceptionally even-tempered personality, which explains why it is first and foremost a companion animal. Royal Canin research has perfected the most accurate possible nutritional response to the very specific needs of this well loved and respected breed.
